Vision Planning For CPR
Survey Results

In vision planning one should often ask (in light of what God is doing among us), "Where have we come from?" and "Where are we going?"

The Steering Committee of CPR had a vision planning session on Saturday, November 14, 1998. The CPR luncheon on January 28, lead by John Perry, was an opportunity for feedback from participants and supporters to guide the Steering Committee.

The feedback was in the form of a written survey administered during the luncheon. Participants were asked to rank various ministry proposals for CPR from one (do not support) to five (strongly support). This produced a mean score – the closer to five the more this sampling supports that activity.

Areas which showed strong support are as follows:

Continue with Theme Luncheons (such as "Honoring Elected Officials"). Suggested themes include women leaders, Jaguar Thursday, Interdenominational ministries in Jacksonville and honor your pastor. (Mean score – 4.6)

Sponsor and organize quarterly Workshops and Seminars. Topics could include time management, leadership, outreach, evangelism, discipleship and intercessory prayer. (Mean score – 4.21)

Develop a Directory of Local Christian Resources. Like a Christian Yellow Pages with a statement of faith. (Mean score – 4.16)

Set up a book, video and audio tape Resource Table for sale, trade or loan at monthly luncheons. (Mean score – 4.0)

Establish a Prayer Line in the Times-Union with a call-in number. Local churches could provide follow-up. (Mean score – 3.92)

Send out Weekly Fax or E-mail to participants covering editorials, motivational topics, current events, topics of interest or needs in the city. E-mail was strongly favored over fax. (Mean score – 3.89)

An Annual Project such as the Adopt-a-Room Project for the City Recovery Institute of the City Rescue Mission. CPR is now raising funds for it’s Adopt-a-Room Project. (Mean score – 3.82)

Expand the CPR Newsletter into a Christian Newspaper for North Florida. The Resource is a work-in-progress toward that goal. (Mean score – 3.57)

Establish Additional Committees for membership, marketing, communications, church relations, vision planning, public relations or special projects. Some of these are currently underway. (Mean score – 3.55)

Sponsor an Annual Special Event. Ideas may include a fall cruise or group fishing trip. (Mean score – 3.47)

Run Spots on Local Radio stations. (Mean score – 3.19)

The CPR Steering Committee extends it’s thanks to John Perry for his labors, and to all the survey participants, as we prayerfully consider what the Lord God would have us do for His Kingdom.
