Christian Professional’s Resource was established to promote God-fearing
leadership and to tell the Gospel to professional, business and working
people. The mission of CPR is founded upon Proverbs 27:17, As iron sharpens
iron, so one man sharpens another.
In January, 1995, sixteen professional and business men gathered for
lunch to share their desire to form an evangelistic and training ministry
for community leaders. CPR was incorporated as a tax-exempt nonprofit ministry
in July, 1996.
Since those early days, the monthly CPR luncheons for the business community
have grown steadily. It is estimated that CPR now sponsors the largest
monthly luncheon in the City of Jacksonville. This should humble each CPR
participant and remind us of our common mission.
Gospel means, simply, "good news." You have probably heard someone tell
you, "I have good news and I have bad news…The bad news is…"
Well, the Gospel is often presented without first telling the "bad news."
The bad news is…the Lord God is righteous in all His ways, and you’re not!
The Lord is holy and without sin, and you’re not! He is the creator and
ruler of heaven and earth, and you’re not! The Lord is the judge of all
the thoughts and deeds of men, and you’re not!
By what standard will the Lord judge every secret intent of the heart?
By the perfect standard of His Word. Stated plainly, you will be judged
against the standard of perfection! The relative strengths and failures
of your neighbor are immaterial.
It is not based on the law of averages, either. For whoever shall
keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
(James 2:10) You see, the bad news is that (apart from Divine intervention)
you will be declared guilty before the judgment throne of Jesus Christ.
The good news is that the Creator God did intervene! The
Triune God determined to save those who are otherwise without hope! The
Gospel of grace is described as testifying repentance toward God, and
faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 20:21)
The good news of CPR (and of all Gospel ministries) is that, if you
repent
of your sins, and if you have faith in the Lord Jesus as he is offered
in the Bible, then the Holy Spirit will testify the certain hope of your
salvation.
How is this done? Salvation is applied to your soul by the Holy Spirit
through the living Word of God. As the Truth of the good news transforms
your heart, you must respond in repentance and faith.
GOOD NEWS:

There is none righteous, no, not one. For all have sinned, and come
short of the glory of God.

(Romans 14:10)
Repent of Sins
Repent therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.
(Acts 3:19)
Believe in Jesus
We believe and are sure that thou art the Christ, the Son of the living
God.

Grow in Grace
Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
