CeCe Winans
A Worshipper of God

CeCe Winans is a singer, an author, a philanthropist and a businesswoman. But her music shows her as she truly is at the very core of her soul: "I am a worshipper," she says. CeCe sang her first church solo at the age of eight.

"There's power in getting people to really forget about themselves and focus on God to the best of their abilities, from the bottom of their hearts," CeCe says.

"I know that part of my mission, my calling, is to bring His people into a higher place of praise - that place where you lose yourself, that place of clarity where you can see His purpose and why you're going through certain things," she says.

Her album, Alabaster Box, "will hopefully encourage people to praise and worship God the way He deserves," CeCe says.

"My career has gone in a lot of different areas," she says, "and it's because of God. He's allowed me to go outside the church, but I feel my strongest anointing is in worshipping Him and letting people realize the value of worship towards God and the benefits that you reap."

"Everybody's not going to understand where God has called you to go, but that is not an excuse for you not to go there," CeCe explains. "Then, when He puts you in certain places, it's spiritual warfare to stay there."

Broken and realizing your need for God - "That is the position you have to be in to really worship God," says CeCe. "You have to be at a point of total surrender. God has to be allowed to deal with every area."

"I love to talk about praising God," she says. "I love to talk about the God that I serve. That's my best subject - to talk about my relationship with Him, how good He is, how great He is. I love to tell everybody about what I've found."

The eighth of ten children, CeCe once told People magazine that "Our parents raised us with Christian values, and you don't always understand that as a kid. But it saved me from a whole lot of trouble."
